Precious Land

Today we are the very proud owners of a very precious piece of land. The piece of land where our sweet little boy is laid to rest. But not only that the grave next to him so Mummy and Daddy can be next to him forever. Just over 6 weeks ago when we lost our sweet little boy we was put with a heart breaking dilemma. We were given the opportunity to purchase Tommy’s grave but we had to find the money before Tommy’s funeral, unfortunately this wasn’t an option for us. We applied for some help to pay for Tommy’s grave but because I work and the disability benefit Martin is on doesn’t qualify, even though he is unable to work because of his disability. If he had been on income support then we would have been able to get help. We had to sign a document saying that the grave would be property of the council but we had the opportunity to buy it at a later date. On this form was a declaration stating that although it was very unlikely there could be an opportunity that if the Grave remained with the council that they could bury someone else in with Tommy. From that moment we said no matter what it took we would purchase Tommy’s grave. Our aim was to save up and purchase Tommy’s grave for what would have been his 4th Birthday. Then for Christmas purchase his headstone. We had to purchase his grave first because without us purchasing it we couldn’t have a headstone. Thankfully this worry has now been lifted from us with Thanks to Georgina Moseley and the Help Harry Help Others charity which was set up by Georgina’s son Harry. This amazing charity was told of our dilemma by Tommy’s Funeral Director Luan who helps out at the Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre, she was telling one of her colleagues at the centre all about Tommy, Martins brain tumour and how we didn’t qualify for any sort of help and then her colleague Paula said I wonder if Georgina could help. Paula then sent Georgina an email explaining our story and within 10 minutes she had a reply to call Georgina. It was then Georgina offered to pay for Tommy’s Grave. Luan called us to tell us the news on Wednesday 18th February at around 1.30pm. Again Tommy’s Special day and all this was being done around his special time. That day was a very emotional day and I must say quite a few tears were shed. The following day we had been to see Tommy and called into see Tommy’s uncle, while we were with Tommy’s uncle we had another phone call from Luan to finalise some information, so we told Tommy’s uncle what had happened the day before. He then showed us a text message from One of Tommy’s Great Aunties which had also been sent on that Wednesday. She was rallying round the Family to raise the money to purchase the grave next to Tommy so we would have somewhere to stand and talk to Tommy and then when the time comes our ashes can be put. We had mention that we would like to raise the money to buy this grave as the graves are very close to one another and should the grave next to Tommy become occupied we wouldn’t have enough room to stand. We were so overwhelmed at the kind gesture and felt a little uneasy at first that someone was in effect buying our final resting place, but as we were told, everyone just wants to do something to help ease our pain and as there is nothing physically they can do this is something they can do to try and help us. We are so Thankful to Georgina, HHHO And all the Family for taking away the stress and worry of finding this money and we can now concentrate on finding Tommy the Perfect headstone with the knowledge knowing one day we will be together again, side by side. THANK YOU XXXX
